NEW RECRUITS (Sept 20, 1955)

Bilko, trimmed at poker by the other sergeants, tries desperately to round up a bank roll to recoup his loses in another game.

THE EMPTY STORE (Sept 27)
wr: Nat Hiken. w/Michael Dreyfus.

When the other sergeants refuse to play poker with him anymore Bilko rents an empty store in nearby Roseville and refuses to tell why, causing a big boom in real estate and bringing the three sergeants Pendleton, Grover and Sowici back to heel.

WAC (Oct 4)

Bilko and a WAC sergeant vie for the right to have a personal jeep at their disposal. (First appearance of Elizabeth Fraser as Sgt. Joanie Hogan.)

THE HORSE  (Oct 11)

Bilko and the platoon buy Bellboy an ailing racehorse, convinced that the animal can be cured and turned into another 'Native Son.'

A.W.O.L. (Oct 18)
wr. Nat Hiken. w/Lilia Skala, Pat Hingle, Hanz Schumm, Olga Fabian, Jean Mowry, Carol Keyser and Rudolph Weiss.

In Chicago to pick up an AWOL soldier (Hingle) Bilko crashes some pre-nuputual Hungarian ceremonies and learns a new card game.

BOXER (Oct 25)

First appearance of Terry Carter as Pvt 'Sugie' Sugarman. Bilko discovers that a former Golden Gloves champion is in his platoon but the boxer's girlfriend won’t let him fight.

THE HOODLUM (Nov 1)

An insubordinate soldier who wants to be busted back to civilian holds up Bilko's drive to become 'Soldier of the Month.'

MARDI GRAS (Nov 8)

Bilko decides to teach a lesson to a society girl (Ford) who refuses to reign as Queen of the motor pool Mardi Gras.

EATING CONTEST (Nov 15)
wr. Nat Hiken, Arnold Auerbach. w/Fred Gwynne, Barbara Barry, Janet Ward, Bern Hoffman and Murray Hamilton.

Bilko enters one of the platoon in a Fort Baxter eating competition.

THE CENTENNIAL (Nov 22)

Colonel Hall orders the new Special Services officer at Fort Baxter to put a stop to all gambling activities.

BIVOUAC (Nov 29)

wr. Nat Hiken, Terry Ryan, Barry Blitzer. w/PhiIippa Bevans, Larry Storch.

In order not to go on bivouac, Bilko feigns a rare disease and manages to get hospitalised, though he soon wishes he hadn't!

SlNGING CONTEST (Dec 6)

Bilko enters the motor pool platoon in a singing contest with a tree trip to Miami as first prize.

THE TWITCH (Dec 13)
(aka. The Lecture)
wr. Nat Hiken, Terry Ryan, Barry Blitzer. w/Charlotte Rae, John Stephen, Murray Hamilton.

Bilko is ordered to recruit an audience for a lecture on Beethoven to be given by an officer's wife (Rae) bu her unusual twitch provides a way of capitalising on the event.

REUNION (Dec 20)
wr. Nat Hiken, Arnold Auerbach. w/Ken Dibbs, Arthur Tell, John Anderson and Henry Beckman.

Bilko meets up with some ex-Army buddies, all now in civilian life and realises that army life is not so bad afterall.

RICH KID (Dec 27)
(aka. The Platoon's Saloon)

wr. Nat Hiken, Terry Ryan, Barry Blitzer. w/Mark Rydall, Barbara Barry, Jane Dulo, Dodie Goodman and Henry Lascoe.

Bilko sets his sights on purchasing a saloon when a rich recruit (Rydall) joins the platoon.

HOLLYWOOD (Jan 3, 1956)
wr. Nat Hiken. w/JuIe Styne (as Himself), Bob Dryden, David Sheiner, Eric Fleming, Malcolm Beggs, Billy Greene, Howard Smith, Jim Dolen, Ralph Santley, Bruce Davis and Stanley Simmonds.

Bilko arrives in Hollywood, as technical advisor for a movie about the battle of Kabuchi Island. Stanley Simmonds makes his first appearance as Bilko 'lookalike', playing Bilko in the movie. Ernie throws him off the set, preferring to be played by beefy Rory Mundane (Eric Fleming)...

INVESTIGATION (Jan 10)

Bilko hears that Congress is to probe into military waste, and turns Fort Baxter into a picture of abject poverty.

KIDS IN TRAILERS ( Jan 17)

Diaper—changing stumps Bilko when be babysits in a trailer so that a GI and his wife can take a 3 day furlough.

REVOLUTIONARY WAR (Jan 24)

When Bilko learns that his great, great uncle (Silvers in a dual role as Major Bilko) served on General Washington's staff, he decides to reform and become an officer.

TRANSFER (Jan 31)
wr. Nat Hiken, Vincent Bogert, Harvey Orkin. w/Bob Hastings, Zachery Charles, Bob Lieb and Jay Berney.

Bilko asks for and gets a transfer from Fort Baxter — but finds that happiness doesn’t come so easy.

THE REST CURE (Feb 7)

Bilko persuades the whole camp to act crazy, hoping to get sent to a rest camp during a heat wave.

DINNER AT SOWICIS (Feb 14)
wr. Nat Hiken, Harvey Orkin, Barry Blitzer. w/Tomi Romer, Darryl Richards and charles Purcell.

Afraid that Joanie is softening him up for marriage, Bilko decides to show her how married couples really live courtesy of Sowicki's blissful family life!

ARMY MEMOIRS (Feb 21)

Bilko is busted to private when three fellow non-coms refusing to be fall guys any longer, tell Colonel Hall all about Bilko's misdeeds.

MISS AMERICA (Feb 28)
wr. Nat Hiken, Arnie Rosen, Coleman Jacoby, Terry Ryan, Barry Blitzer. w/Will Abel, Judith Lowry, Jack Orrison, Ann Helm and Malcolm Beggs.

A bashful soldier's white lie convinces Bilko that a potential Miss America lives right near Roseville, Kansas.

THE COURT-MARTIAL (Mar 6)
(aka The Case of Harry Speakup)
wr. Nat Hiken Coleman Jacoby, Arnie Rosen. w/Billy Allen, Nick Saunders, John Boruff, Edmund Lyndeck, Joey Faye, Bob Lieb, Bill Van Sleet, Charles Rae King and ‘Zippy the chimpanzee.

A chimpanzee is unknowingly inducted into the army and the only way to save face is to court martial him. Cited as Phil's and Nicholas Saunders favourite episode.

FURLOUGH N NEW YORK (Mar 13)
wr. Nat Hiken, Terry Ryan. w/Barbara Barry, Billy Allen, Stanley Simmonds, Kay Lyder and Fay Morley.

Ernie and Joan, each unknown to the other on furlough in New York.

THE BIG URANIUM STRIKE (Mar 20)

Bilko makes a uranium strike directly beneath Colonel Hall's living room.

BILKO AND THE BEAST (Mar 27)

Colonel Hall sends for a hard-boiled sergeant to ride hard on the soft living Bilko regime.

THE PHYSICAL CHECK-UP (Apr 10)

Afraid he might be given a medical discharge, Bilko even tries a 20-mile hike to prove that he’s physically fit.

Bilko gets a 40—1 tip on a horse from an ex-GI whose life he saved in Okinawa, but he can't get away from his recruits to place the bet.

HAIR (Apr 24)

Bilko decides to do something about his bald head when Joanie starts dating a wavy haired corporal.

Bilko tries to educate Doberman in the ways of card sharps, but his pupil keeps finding new ways of losing money.

Bilko is caught between a wedding and army manoeuvres.
